Themed “25 Years of Silver Linings,” the Laura’s House gala at the Fashion Island Hotel netted $835,000 for domestic violence victims services and prompted a $1 million gift from Laura Khouri and Michael Hayde (Crystal Heart awardees) to kick-start the nonprofit’s proposed multi-purpose comprehensive center. Hayde sweetened the pot by matching live auction and “Rebuild A Life” donations in honor of Khouri.
